Unit Rugby Officers have an important role to play in Community Rugby and therefore should be familiar with:
- ARU Policy – Covering policies on: Membership, Health and Safety, Overseas Touring, Combined Service Selection, Player’s Charter, ARU Policy on Cross-Code Activity.
- Affiliation and Insurance – Obtaining ARU/RFU affiliation and Insurance to enable your team to play and enter competitions held by the ARU.
- Coaching training – Coaching courses.
- Competitions – A list of the competitions and their associated rules.
- Community Cup/Shield
- Premiership Cup (formerly the ‘Army Cup’)
- Corps Championship (formerly the ‘Merit Tables’)
- Corps Competition
- Army Seven-a-side Tournament
- Women’s Corps League
- Southern League
- BA (G) Competitions
- Competitions fixtures – The structure fixture list for all ARU competitions.
- Book a Ref – Procedures for booking a referee.
- Discipline – Discipline procedures.
- Health & Safety – Game Health & Safety requirements and Risk Assessments.
- RFU Notices – Notices issued by the RFU which have a direct bearing on the playing of rugby union in the Army.
- Touring Instructions – Instructions on how to apply for permission to take a team touring.

Welcome to the Army Rugby Union Referees' Society (ARURS). We aim to promote and develop rugby refereeing in the Army, to provide referees for the three Services and to provide referees for civilian societies and other bodies affiliated to the RFU where appropriate.
