PRIVATE RYAN JOINS LIONS

Private Ryan

Former Royal Signals soldier and Army U23 player Ryan Grant has been called into the British and Irish Lions squad in Australia. He will replace the injured Welshman Gethin Jenkins in the front row.

Ryan currently on tour in South Africa with Scotland was immediately shuttled on to a plane to Sydney to join the Lions who face seven tough matches, including three Tests against The Ozzies.

On hearing the news Ryan said “It’s the top of the game. To call myself a Lion is the greatest honour”.

The 27 year old Glasgow prop already has 10 Scotland caps after making his debut in 2010.
