Welcome to the Army Rugby Union Referees' Society (ARURS). We aim to promote and develop rugby refereeing in the Army, to provide referees for the three Services and to provide referees for civilian societies and other bodies affiliated to the RFU where appropriate.

All appointments for Referees must be made via the CS or SAS appointers. Please do not embarrass a referee by approaching them directly.
There are two levels of booking a referee for rugby union within the Army and Combined Services, basically it depends on the level of the game:
Within the UK and other military areas, Service Area Secretaries (SAS) appoint to games at Level 9 and below,- Combined Service Senior Appointments appoint to Level 9 and above.
- Team Administrators are to advise SAS if their match is for U18s, in order for a CRB approved referee to be appointed. SAS can obtain a list of ARURS CRB approved referees for the ARURS Secretary.
- All Team Administrators are to be aware that is their responsibility to contact the nominated referee at least 72 hours prior to the game, to confirm availability, pitch location, kick-off time, playing strips of both teams and any relevant competition regulations.
