Further comment from Air Commodore Steve Lushington:

It is a real privilege to be playing at Kingsholm, a stadium which has witnessed so many incredible sporting moments.  Such a venue can only inspire our Servicemen and women to play the best rugby of their lives – it will be a truly magnificent sporting occasion.

There is added excitement for this year’s fixture as it the Royal Air Force Rugby Union’s Centenary year. I am sure this will help to inspire the Royal Air Force players to perform even better.

Following the resounding success of the 2019 fixtures at Kingsholm, I am delighted Gloucester Rugby will host the 2020 Royal Air Force verses Army inter-Service rugby matches.

There is a real buzz building around these fixtures and we expect a capacity crowd this year.

There will be a ‘rugby festival’ feel to the day with the Women’s, Men’s and Veteran’s teams all battling it out on 4 April in what will be an excellent spectacle of Service rugby.

There is massive pride in playing for your Service and emotions will be running high.  When the national anthem plays, the desire to play your best and do your Service proud will be huge.

Last year’s fixtures were a huge success and were supported by an appreciative crowd of over 6000 people, this year promises to be even better – book your tickets now for a fantastic day of forces sport! www.gloucesterrugby.co.uk

Due to the prospect of mass gatherings being prohibited by the govervnment, it would probably affect the Army v RAF inter services game at Kingsholme, Gloucester. Will you make an announcement as soon as the government makes their decree?

    Thank you,

    Michael Anderson
