Cancellation of the Army v Navy Match at Twickenham – Spring 2021
A STATEMENT FROM THE ARMY V NAVY MATCH COMMITTEE
It is with regret that the Army and Royal Navy Rugby Unions, in consultation with the RFU, have decided to cancel the 2021 Army v Navy Inter Service Match at Twickenham.
This decision has been taken due to the continued uncertainty surrounding the delivery of sporting events with spectators because of the pandemic, which is likely to remain an issue for at least the first half of 2021.
The RFU has been very understanding of the need for our Unions to cancel the Twickenham fixture, in what is, and continues to be, a very challenging period of time in which to organise sporting events.
All three Service Rugby Unions are committed to playing a 2021 Inter Service competition (Men, Women & Veterans) if feasible, and relevant details on dates and venues will be announced when known.
The Army Navy Match Committee thank you for your continued support throughout these unprecedented times and very much look forward to seeing everyone back at Twickenham in 2022.
