The Army’s representatives in the Premier 15s all enjoyed winning weekends in Round 3.
Bdr Bethan Dainton (Royal Artillery) and her Harlequins team mates continued their 100 percent start to the campaign with a 33-14 bonus point win over Exeter Chiefs in Guildford.
The Quins’ forwards have been laying the foundations for good wins all season and this match was no different, the pack scoring three tries in the opening 20 minutes. Quins scored five tries in all and remain top of the table.
Wasps included Capt Gemma Rowland (Royal Artillery) and SSgt Sarah Mitchelson (RLC) in the squad for their trip to Worcester, and the group overcame some atrocious conditions to record a 22-7 win at Sixways, their first of the campaign.
Capt Erica Mills (Royal Artillery) had an unscheduled weekend without a match, as Gloucester-Hartpury’s match against Sale Sharks was postponed late on Friday due to a number of the Sharks squad testing positive for Covid-19.
Only points difference split Harlequins from Saracens, with Loughborough Lightning one point behind in third. Gloucester-Hartpury remained fourth despite not playing, while Wasps moved up to seventh.
The next full round of matches will be on Saturday, November 7th, although Wasps are in action this coming weekend for their rescheduled Round 1 trip to Bristol Bears.
