The Army Men’s and Women’s 7s teams head to Bury St Edmunds this weekend for the fourth and final round of this years Super 7s Series.
The Army Men having won the third leg of the competition in Nottingham last weekend, this see’s them second in the overall standings on 45 points with Samurai just ahead on 50 points, so it is all to play for.
The Army Men are pooled with the Speranza 22, Compeed Marlborough 7s and the Royal Navy meaning for the second time in the Series and only the second time ever the two forces teams will face each other for a high noon showdown.
The Army won the first round clash between the two Forces sides at Newbury three weeks ago but the Navy have been improving round on round throughout the series and have impressed with their performances so the Reds will need to be on top of their game for round two.
The Army Women’s round-robin opponents remain the same as the opening three rounds, Samurai, Ramblin Jesters and WS Marauders, with the addition of a fifth guest team Hammer Heads.
The Army Women have steadily improved throughout the previous three rounds of the series, narrowly missing out 26-28 to WS Marauders in a tight Plate final last Saturday. With a consistent player group available for each round, the commitment and effort levels are clear to see for all following the the teams progress and they will be looking to record their first win of the season this coming weekend.
