The Army Men’s Sevens team have once again asserted their dominance on the national sevens stage, securing the 2025 LIT Super Sevens Series title – their second consecutive championship in the competition.

After a hard-fought campaign across four  rounds, the Army side sealed the series with another impressive display of physicality, pace and cohesion at the final leg held this weekend at Bury St Edmunds RFC. Their consistency throughout the tournament saw them top the standings ahead of a highly competitive field, underlining their reputation as one of the most formidable sevens squads in UK rugby.

Head Coach, Cpl Joseva Nayacavou (R Sigs) praised the resilience and work ethic of the squad:

“This title means a lot to us. To defend the crown shows the depth of talent and commitment in our setup. Every player, coach, and staff member has contributed to this success. We’re proud to represent the Army on this stage and bring the trophy home once again.”

The LIT Super Sevens Series, renowned for attracting top-level talent from across the UK, presented a rigorous test of endurance and performance. The Army side’s campaign was marked by standout wins against several elite teams, with fast-paced attacking rugby and rock-solid defence at the heart of their success.

Director of Rugby, Capt Jeff Howard (R Sigs) added:

“Back-to-back titles in a series of this calibre is no small feat. It reflects the professionalism of our players and the strength of the Army Rugby Union’s development pathway. It’s an achievement that highlights the excellence and discipline that Army sport is known for.”

With this win, the Army Men’s 7s team further cements its legacy in the British sevens landscape, setting a strong benchmark ahead of upcoming military and national competitions.
