Army Rugby Union extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to Lieutenant Colonel Tim Osman following his decision to step down as Head Coach of the Army Senior Men’s XV.
Tim concludes four seasons with the programme, initially as Interim Head Coach before serving three seasons in post, during which he has made a significant and lasting contribution to Army Rugby.
Under his leadership, the Senior Men’s XV enjoyed a number of notable successes, including two Remembrance Match victories over the US Military, four wins against the French Army, and the memorable Inter Service triumph over the Royal Navy at Twickenham in 2024. His tenure also saw Army Rugby recognised with the Army and UK Armed Forces Team of the Year Award for the 2023 to 2024 season.
Beyond the results on the field, Tim has demonstrated exceptional dedication, professionalism and commitment. Balancing the demands of high performance sport alongside a full military career, he has invested considerable time and energy into the development of players, staff and the wider programme, upholding the values and standards of both Army Rugby and the British Army at all times.
Tim’s impact extends far beyond matchdays, and his leadership has left a lasting impression across the Army Rugby community.
As he now turns his focus to his wider Army responsibilities and ongoing commitments within UK Armed Forces Rugby, he does so with the gratitude and respect of all those involved in the game.
Tim will always remain a valued member of the Army Rugby family.
