The Army Rugby Union is proud to announce a historic first for military rugby, as the British Army and French Army’s men’s and women’s teams will compete in an inaugural double-header fixture on Wednesday, 26th March 2025.
The prestigious event will be hosted at the Army Rugby Stadium in Aldershot, with the women’s match kicking off at 1400hrs, followed by the men’s match at 1700hrs. Entry to both fixtures is free, ensuring a fantastic opportunity for supporters to witness top-class military rugby action.
The annual Le Crunch fixture between the British Army and French Army men’s teams has been a highly anticipated clash for over a decade, with the hosting duties alternating between the UK and France each year, except during the COVID-19 disruptions. However, the 2025 edition marks a significant milestone, as it will feature the first-ever fixture between the British Army and French Army women’s teams.
This landmark event underscores the growth and development of women’s rugby within the military, providing an opportunity for both teams to showcase their skill, strength, and commitment on an international stage. The British Army women’s team have continued to represent at the highest level in recent years with fixtures against Sweden and Portugal, and their encounter with their French counterparts promises to be a thrilling contest.
