Congratulations to Captain Jamie Miller AAC who has been selected to Captain the UK Armed Forces Rugby team to compete at the 2019 International Defence World Cup being held in Japan this autumn.

Jamie captained the Army Senior Men’s team to the 2019 Inter Service title with victories over both the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy respectively earlier this year.

This will be the first time the three UK services have competed at IDRC collectively, when the UK hosted the Military ‘World Cup’ back in 2015 each service competed in their own right hosting a pool at each of their ‘home’ facilities.

The UKAF Team Management held a three day training and team bonding camp this week at HMS Temeraire with players from across all three services hoping to impress for selection to the team to travel and compete at the prestigious tournament.

The current IDRC Champions are the Fijian Defence Force who will also be heading to Japan to defend their title.

You can keep up to date with all the latest news for the competition, including competing teams and scheduled fixtures via the IDRC 2019 website
