The Army Rugby Union is proud to announce that Rfn Vereimi Qorowale and Rfn Lekima Ravuvu, both 2 RIFLES, have signed with Ampthill RFC for the upcoming 2024/25 Championship rugby season. Both players bring a wealth of talent, strength, and dynamic play to Ampthill as they step into this exciting chapter of their rugby careers.
Both players were integral members of the Army Senior Men’s squad during the 2023/24 season, with Ravuvo going on to join the Army 7s team for the summer season and Qorowale finishing a match winning try v the Royal Navy at Twickenham in May. Their transition to Ampthill comes as the club seeks to bolster its lineup for the upcoming season, with the goal of pushing for strong performances in the RFU Championship.
Rifleman Vereimi Qorowale, known for his speed and agility, is a product of the Army 7s pathway. His performances over the summer of 2022 caught the eye of Premiership Club Newcastle Falcons with whom he spent two seasons before the move to Ampthill. He has consistently delivered standout performances for the Army Rugby Union, earning accolades for his sharp attacking play and solid defense which have seen him awarded caps for the UK Armed Forces at both 7s and 15s.
Rifleman Lekima Ravuvu, brings strength, determination, and tactical awareness to the game. With a commanding presence in the forward pack, Ravuvu has proven his ability to dominate in both open play and set-pieces. He was awarded his first senior Army cap v the French Army in Pau back in March. A summer spent with the Army 7s squad has seen his physicality and work ethic develop even further and he was rewarded with the Player of the Season accolade by his coaches.
We wish both players every success in the upcoming season and are confident they will make a significant impact with their new club.
