England Women v France Women

The Royal Engineers’ Jane Leonard played a vital role in England overcoming a 13 point deficit to beat France at Esher on 3 November.

Jane’s persistence in defence ensured the French No 10 was unable to contribute much more than a shakey link to some pretty quick backs. Les Bleus Plan B was to mix carnage and mayhem around the fringes of the England scrum. Jane stood up to a massive French back row. With very little exaggeration the French ‘ Nombre Huite’ was a foot taller and twice her weight—and mean with it!

It was a cracking game of rugby so don’t forget England Women play the New Zealand Black Ferns at the Aldershot Rugby Stadium on 27 November. Kick off 1930 hrs. Concessions available for ‘milpers’ at the ARU. Jane Leonard leads the England pack out in defense.
