The SCOTS DG and current cup holders 28 Engr Regt did battle in the midst of a huge snow storm in Sennelager today. Early morning sunshine soon faded as the deluge covered the pitch and all the markings.
Despite this early pressure it was the SCOTS DG back row and midfield duo who made the first telling breaks and after a punishing set ofdrives from Army Cap LCpl Saulailai and BAG No8 LCpl Cabemaiwasa the referee awarded a penalty for handling in the ruck.
Captain Kelly stepped up and took the three points to put the SCOTS DG in front.

The first half continued in this vain as the Sapper defence held firm. Another penalty went close to the uprights for the SCOTS DG before Windle went on a thundering run and was brought down five metres short of the try line. The SCOTS DG half backs saw out the half as the snow fall got heavier.

Nearly 20 phases of play where the ball changed hands twice ended when SCOTS DG skipper Lt Maclaurinfinished off a sharp break from Tpr Sokia.
Kelly converted to leave the Sappers needing two scores to win with 20 mins on the clock.
The SCOTS DG closed out the game with the Sappers managing to convert one of the two penalties in range that they were awarded. The Community Cup has changed hands but remains in BAG for another season.
