The 2025 Army Rugby Union (ARU) Community Inter-Corps 7s delivered an unforgettable day of high-octane action and heartfelt camaraderie at North Dorset RFC last weekend.

Held in conjunction with the popular North Dorset 7s, this year’s tournament brought together eight fiercely competitive Army teams for a festival of speed, skill, and service pride.

From the first kick-off, the competition crackled with intensity. Hard hits, lightning-fast footwork, and passionate support from the touchlines made for an electric atmosphere. Crowds gathered from early morning, packing the venue to witness the very best of Army community rugby in action.

In the Plate final, the Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) emerged victorious after a gritty showdown against London Central Garrison (LCG). The closely fought encounter saw both sides dig deep, with the RLC holding their nerve in the final moments to lift the silverware. Their triumph was a testament to teamwork, resilience, and unwavering determination.

The Cup final delivered the day’s most dramatic spectacle, pitting the Scots Dragoon Guards against the Scots Guards in a match worthy of any rugby stage. With end-to-end play, deft handling, and thunderous tackles, the final enthralled fans and embodied the true essence of sevens rugby. After a titanic tussle, the Scots Dragoon Guards edged ahead in the dying moments, clinching a memorable victory and etching their name into ARU sevens history.

As the sun set over the Dorset hills, the fierce rivalry on the pitch gave way to celebration and unity off it. Players, coaches, and supporters from across the Corps came together to share stories, shake hands, and enjoy a well-earned drink—highlighting the deep bonds and mutual respect that underpin the Army Rugby Union community.

Events like the Community 7s not only showcase the athleticism and skill within the Army’s ranks but also serve as a reminder of the enduring values of teamwork, discipline, and fellowship. A huge thank you to North Dorset RFC for their warm hospitality and to everyone who made the day such a resounding success.
