France will face Argentina at the AJ Bell Stadium when the tournament kicks-off on June 7, while South Africa will take on Japan at Manchester City’s Academy Stadium. England share pool B with Scotland and Italy, as well as 2010 World Rugby U20 Championship runners-up Australia.

Jack Clifford and Maro Itoje were winning captains in 2013 and 2014 respectively, as part of the Rugby Football Union’s commitment to delivering the best World Rugby U20 Championship yet, a range of programmes have been created to make sure everyone can get involved with the competition. A trophy tour will take place throughout May, culminating in the official launch event on June 4, while team welcoming ceremonies will ensure the visiting nations find a ‘home away from home’ in the Greater Manchester area.

There is a journalism competition for budding rugby writers, while a theater group will be touring the city, telling the story of the sport.
