2Lt Mike Todd, a leading ARURS referee, has just returned from two weeks on an official exchange with the Australian Army as a Defence Engagement event.

He was based in Sydney and Canberra from 25 April to 11 May 2024.

During his time there he officiated in 9 matches, both military and civilian fixtures.

  • 5 Australian Defence Force Championship Fixtures (Australian version of the UK Inter Services competition)
  • 4 Games in the local Australian Capital Territory Competitions

The highlight was the Australian Army v Australian Navy Men’s game and the Australian Army v Australian Air Force Women’s game.

This trip highlights one of the many opportunities that can come from Refereeing in the Army.
