UK Fiji 7s

This year the Reds participated in the second year of the UK Fiji 7s that saw the Fijian community come together as district teams to play in an exciting tournament that promotes the core values of rugby not only on the pitch but also off the pitch with families supporting the play and their churches. The Reds depleted of some talent saw the chance to blood some new players and experiment with some tactics against a committed Fijian community.

A number of players were spotted during the day which pleased the management and coaching team, but congratulation must go to the Reds for winning the plate final, one name to come left of arc was our Do7R running out for the team and immediately getting involved in a bone shattering tackle, however not selected for the Reds, if we start up a vets team there might be a chance getting into the squad! More importantly for the day, over 3000 members of the Fijian community came together to embrace the game, catch up for the start of the new XVs rugby season, rekindle close friendships between friends and families – more importantly enjoy the day and the rugby on offer.
