Earlier this month ARURS held its 54th<\/sup> Annual Dinner in the Indian Army Memorial Room, RMA Sandhurst.<\/p>\n Fresh from refereeing this year’s Army vs. Navy fixture, the Society was delighted to host Sara Cox as its principal guest.<\/p>\n Sara has not only blazed a trail for female referees, she personifies what it means to officiate at the very highest levels of any sport.<\/p>\n After dinner, Sara\u00a0entertained members with many amusing ‘dits’ from her refereeing pathway; from first picking up the whistle to making her way up through the junior leagues to ultimately officiating in the Premiership and at internationals, including the Rio Olympic Game.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t Sara then awarded ARURS Caps to Rich Smith, Adam Hughes, Mike Todd and Neil Hennessy for their recent Inter Service appointments.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t Sara also presented this season’s Society Awards to;<\/p>\n Neil Hennessy as the ARURS Referee of the Year<\/p>\n Stephen Walley as ARURS New Referee of the Year<\/p>\n and finally the ARURS Award for Commitment to Claire MacCarron for her many years of selfless commitment to the Society.<\/p>\n Many congratulations to all.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t Article and images provided by Col TJ Harper<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Earlier this month ARURS held its 54th Annual Dinner in the Indian Army Memorial Room, RMA Sandhurst.
