From 1st July 2023, the tackle height in community rugby which includes all rugby delivered under the governance of the Army Rugby Union is to be reduced from the line of the shoulders (line of the armpit in Age Grade) to the base of the sternum. This is to improve player safety by reducing the risk of head-on-head contact and concussion.

The Army Rugby Union will host a Tackle Height study day in Aldershot (Garrett’s club house) on Wednesday 21st June 2023 from 0900 to NLT 1300 hrs – running concurrently to the Corps VII competition.

The target audience is primarily Coaches and Team Captains (not withstanding those involved in playing in the Corps VII) although Unit Rugby Officers and Team Manager’s, referees are welcome to attend.

The expectation is that all ARU affiliated teams will be represented during the study day.

Action required. Please register your attendance at the Study Day HERE ASAP but NLT 15 Jun 23
