The ARU Academy – is the proving ground for new and emerging talent where players will be able to represent the Army and compete for a place in the Senior XV.

- The Development XV – the Development XV is where emerging talent yet to make the Senior XV is assessed, nurtured and developed to generate a depth of player and skill set to sustain the Senior XV.
- The U23 XV – as per the Development XV but for players who meet the U23 player eligibility and can have experience of Inter Services Rugby as part of their development pathway to the Senior XV.
To develop young soldiers and officers to be rugby players capable of performing at the very highest level they can achieve in order to secure the cultural legacy of the Army Rugby Union.
