The Army Rugby Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Captain Mark Eastley, Royal Engineers as the Head Coach to the Army Masters.

Mark succeeds WO2 Dean Lloyd-Christie who has done a fantastic job and led the squad to 3 consecutive Inter Service titles.

Mark has played at various representative levels throughout his career from Regimental teams through to Army A and Army Masters, including winning the Corps Merit League with the Royal Engineers RFC squad & achieving 7 Army Masters Caps.

Mark is an experienced coach having been involved at Regimental and Corps level and most recently as the Army Masters assistant coach.  He is also heavily involved in coaching various age groups at civilian clubs and he is currently an assistant coach at Camberley RFC; this will be his first Head Coach appointment within the Army representative system.

Lt Col James Harris, Director of Masters rugby commented, “The Masters are extremely grateful to Dean for raising the standards of the team. His commitment, vision and passion has set the team on a glide path to success.  Mark will evolve the team through the creation of a challenging and enjoyable playing environment which will encourage the natural flair within the players to come to the fore.  It’s a transitional season for the Masters, but I still expect us to be competitive and we will be aiming to retain the Inter Services Trophy.”
