Gnr Senitiki Nayalo (7 Para RHA) was picked out as the ‘star performer’ by The Rugby Paper in Coventry’s landmark win over Ealing Trailfinders on Saturday afternoon.

The powerful number eight played the full 80 minutes at Trailfinders Sports Ground, earning 8/10 for his performance against the Championship leaders.

While Coventry had headed to west London in third place in the table they were nevertheless firm underdogs, having not beaten Ealing on their own patch since the blue and whites had returned to the Championship in 2018.

They did open the scoring with a third-minute penalty, but the rest of the first half belonged to Ealing, who scored 14 unanswered points to lead 14-3 at the break.

However, the next point that Ealing would score would be in the 78th minute, by which time they were chasing the game.

In between times, Coventry scored three tries of their own, building up a lead which proved to be unassailable.

The 22-19 final result, has opened the league wide up. Coventry have extended their lead over Bedford in third place, but the battle for top spot will go down to the wire, with Jersey Reds now just one point behind Ealing.
