GNR Senitiki Nayalo (7 PARA RHA) was on the scoresheet as Coventry climbed to second in the Championship table following a 47-17 victory at Hartpury RFC.
The No. 8 went on 12 minutes, Will Wand and Tobi Wilson having already crossed during a whirlwind start which saw the visitors lead 21-0 thanks to a trio of Pat Pellegrini conversions.
The Tongan international added two more kicks after Ryan Hutler went over and Wand doubled his tally before the break, Matthew Ward getting Hartpury on the board towards the end of the third quarter.
Gnr Nayalo was withdrawn after an hour, but two more Wand tries reaffirmed Coventry’s dominance, Pellegrini slotting another two points for 47-5.
And despite Robbie Smith and Ward crossing late on – Harry Bazalgatte converting the second – they were nothing more than consolations for the home side.
Sgt Matt Dawson (Int Corps) played the final 17 minutes as Cambridge lost 20-15 at home to Nottingham.
Tries from Taiye Olowofela and David Williams gave the visitors a 10-0 half-time lead, Cambridge cutting the gap three minutes into the second period when Steffan James added to a Sam Edwards score.
A second for Williams, converted by Matt Arden, made it 17-7, and the fly-half then kicked a penalty with nine minutes left to extend the lead.
An Eli Caven try gave the Blood & Sand hope, but they could only rescue a losing bonus-point as James landed an injury-time penalty.
LCpl Pita Ratukadreu (REME) helped Plymouth Albion make it back-to-back National One victories with a 20-3 triumph at Birmingham Moseley, the outside centre playing the full 80 minutes.
An early Jack Jolly penalty gave Mose the lead, but the visitors then proved too strong, Jack Oulton crossing before the break and Morgan Stone and Tom Cowan-Dickie after, Tom Putt adding five points with the boot.
It was a tough afternoon for the Army Women at Havant, Spr Lauren Brooks (RE) getting their only try as the Red Shirts went down 99-5 to a strong England Under 20s side.
