COVENTRY produced their best Championship performance of the season to hammer Doncaster Knights 51-7 – Gnr Sentiki Nayalo (7 Para RHA) making a considerable impact during a display dominated by his side’s forwards.

The No. 8, who was making his first league start of the season, played 57 minutes by which time the hosts had built up a 34-7 lead at the Butts Park Arena.

Doncaster headed into the game undefeated, but an early Will Rigg try put Gnr Nayalo’s team in front.

Knights hit back as Sam Olver converted a George Roberts effort, but Coventry then took control as their pack stepped up to the plate.

Pat Pellegrini added to tries from Will Wand and James Tyas before the break, also slotting a penalty for 22-7, and he was again on target as Rigg collected a second of the afternoon.

Jimmy Martin made it 34-7 before Gnr Nayalo was replaced, but further scores from Tobi Wilson, Ryan Hutler and Lucas Titherington – added by another conversion – ensured Coventry reached their half-century.
