Bedford Rugby Club hosted the annual Mobbs Memorial Match this week, just over 1500 spectators gathered in the stands to honour the memory of Lieutenant Colonel Edgar Mobbs and witness another pulsating match between the British Army and Bedford Blues in this annual match which ended 52-31 to the hosts in a pulsating end to end encounter.

The Blues line up featured some guests from Cambridge RFC, Ampthill RFC and Northampton Saints amongst their own more regular players, this was the perfect physical encounter as final preparation before the Army begin their Inter Service campaign.   The Blues started well and scored some good tries capitalising on Army errors.

With some tactical substitutions made for the second half the Reds finished strongly tallying a total of five tries for the evening from Pte Bulumakau (SCOTS) LBdr Boladau (RA) Cfn Laing (REME) Cpl Lawless (RAMC) and Sgt Chennell (RAPTC) This was the final opportunity for players to stake their claim to start against the Royal Air Force at Kingsholm, Gloucester on the 27th April, tickets are available in advance from https://tickets.gloucesterrugby.co.uk  or on the gate on the day of the match.
