Rfn Vereimi Qorowale (Rifles) has joined Championship title-chasers Doncaster Knights on loan for the rest of the season.

The versatile Fijian, who can play in the centre or on the wing, makes the move from Newcastle Falcons, having made a one-off appearance for Knights in their friendly against Edinburgh A recently.

The 28-year-old joined top-flight side Falcons from Belfast Harlequins in the summer of 2022, and debuted in an away Premiership Rugby Cup success at Leicester Tigers in October before grabbing his first try in his next outing against Northampton Saints.

A successful season saw Imi go onto score a try and set up another for the Army in their Inter-Services triumph against the RAF, while he also was in a Red Shirt for the loss to the Navy at Twickenham.

However, the departure of former Director of Rugby, Dave Walder, saw his opportunities limited, but the 7s and 15s-capped Army ace will now be looking to rejuvenate his career at Castle Park.

Speaking about his new 6ft 1in, 16st 7lb signing, Doncaster DoR, Steve Boden, said: Imi is a guy we have worked with in the past, he fit in really well with our boys and the club and I think he really enjoyed his time when he came on loan, so it was an obvious opportunity to work together again and hopefully he can get in some rugby in the near future.”

Rfn Qorowale could make his first competitive appearance on Saturday, when third-placed Knights host Ampthill.
