The summer 7’s season is drawing to the close and the Army Men’s and Women’s 7’s team competed in their penultimate competitions for the year at the 54th annual Harpenden 7’s this past bank holiday weekend.

The Men’s competition started first with the Army dominating their pool notching up three wins from three to head into the knock out stages to face the Samurai Bulldogs, an academy side full of young rugby talent.  The match went down to the wire with Samurai taking the victory 10-7 and also progressing on to win the tournament overall, many congratulations to them.

The Women’s team made a fantastic start to their days competition with a 53-0 victory in their first pool match, the performance showed the development across the squad since the beginning of the season.  Credit to all the players and support staff for their commitment to drive Army Women’s 7’s forward.  The pool stages finished won one, lost one.

The day closed for the team with a loss in the semi finals to a strong Wooden Spoon Ladies team who went on to the Final to face Dambusters who were the eventual winners of the competition and had been fierce opponents for the Army Ladies earlier in the day in the pool matches.
